Burnley - won 4-0 but the 11/10 was never there so won't be put up, but well done if you managed to get on.
Millwall - won 3-2, betfair at the off was at 1.8 to back, so we will take this as the price +0.784 on the match after comm.
Forest Green - won 3-1 away, pinnacle closed at 3.7. +2.7pts
Newport - won 4-0 away, the 7/5 was there in the afternoon, and even on the fair at the end 2.42 was there. +1.4pts on the match

Well 4/4 winners is what we needed. Well done if you managed the 11/10 on Burnley. Hopefully as we enter December we'll have more days like this! +4.884pts for the day.

Ranjaan - huge drift at the off, the layers were right with it coming 2nd -1pt
Urban De Sivola WON after making all and ran a solid race +5pts

Tamworth drew 2-2, coming from 2 nil down, but couldn't find the winner, despite being a man up = -1pt
Roda hung on, winning 1-2 = +4pts
Cluj won 3-1 = +1.08pts

St Mirren won 2-1 as a 1.5pt bet = +1.125pts

Overall:
A decent week, in terms of results and performance. We probably didn't convert as much as we should, a lot of our selections were subject to gambles which did not prevail, and we also hit a number of places, which is encouraging. But, the most important figure sees us with 14 winners from 50 selections (28% SR) and +20.2pts profit over the week. A decent start to November, so let us hope we can continue!

Barnet drew 1-1, conceding from AFC Wimbledon's only shot on target = -1.5pts
Lincoln did win, but didn't reach the 2.4 mark long enough for us to record it
Leyton Orient drew 1-1, but from the stats Hartlepool dominated = -1pt
Peterboro also won, but never drifted to Evens
Tamworth lost, and Ladbrokes held 2/1 so will qualify as a loser = -1pt
York drew 0-0, in a game where they dominated the ball, but couldn't make this count = -2pts
Cartagena was a big price, but they lost 1-0 = -1pt
Girona WON 1-0 = +2.35pts
Mattersburg WON 3-0 at a nice price of 5.3 (BF closing line) = +4.214pts

A question

Received a message from a follower yesterday who asked:

"When you say 1pt bet if price reaches 2.4, do you take the 2.4 net of comm @ Betfair of 5% or gross of comm, assuming no books have gone to 2.4. What did Lincoln reach?"

I thought it pertinent to answer this question on the blog as after yesterday where two winners (Pboro and Lincoln) did not qualify as bets because they did not reach their target price.

Why we say this, is because the football bets are generated through a ratings style process. As a result we factor in our own 'price' with a value buffer so to speak. So, where we feel the actual price is out by a certain %age, it becomes a bet. It is where the two prices (ours and the book) prices are close to the buffer we say 'only at x.xx price or more." We record closing lines for the P&L, but say if the minimum price was there all afternoon, we would include it as it would be achievable.

Yesterday was a great example. Peterborough had already been backed in, and was 10/11 when we posted. The Evens marker never came close. Lincoln did hover just under the 2.4 mark on Betfair all afternoon however. It can be the case that some books choose to take it on, sometimes they will not. I monitor the prices from the post to KO because I am sometimes waiting for prices and so forth. Lincoln for a small period of time hit the 2.4 mark at Betfair, but there wasn't much money in the market, and it was not there long enough, before it got taken back in. In this situation I WOULD factor in the comm on Betfair, but this decision can be purely up to you.

I appreciate it becomes very annoying and frustrating when we put winning bets up which do not reach said price, especially when the football is not doing as well as we would like. Those two winners would have helped immensely. But the price is set like that for a reason I am afraid.

A slightly thick head after yesterday! Was my first experience of Nottingham races, and a thoroughly enjoyable day was had. It was for a friends birthday, so we had a good group of us. Right, a mixed day!

Horses rubbish, football, very good.

Auden 3rd, just a bit lacking in pace, but a decent enough run = -1pt
Belle Park started well, and weakened badly = -1pt
Rocky Creek 2nd by a neck = -1pt
Ghizao didn't ever look comfortable and never really in contention = -1pt
Sam Winner fell on the last hurdle when clear = -1pt
Rockabilly 3rd one paced = -1pt
Ravastree held up early on, but weakened = -1pt

So a couple of places and a faller who in all likelihood would have won. - 7pts

Watford won 1-0, although dominant. Another 2pt winner. Drifted like a barge as well to a closing line @ 2.76 = +3.52
