Football Results Update

Was a big weekend, with plenty of selections:

Bath lost 2-1 to Alfreton, but in an even game which could have swung either way = -1pt
Bournemouth drew 1-1 away to Scunthorpe, conceding a late equaliser, but Bournemouth couldn't kill the game off = -1.5pts
Bradford lost 3-1 away to Cheltenham, who staged a 2nd half fightback = -1.5pts
Burton won 0-2 away to Macclesfield as a 2pt bet = +6.4pts
Dinamo Tblisi won 1-3 away to Merani = +1.45pts
Dundee lost 3-2 away to Ayr after two late goals by Ayr cost us = -1pt
Inverness lost out 4-3 away to Kilmarnock = -1.5pts
Ipswich won 3-2 away to Doncaster with a 79th minute winner, nearly throwing away a 2-0 lead, despite dominating = +2.04pts
Man City held off Utd in a huge game at the top of the Prem as a 2pt bet = +2.2pts
Mansfield hammered Kidderminster away 0-3 = +4.74pts
Midtjylland won 1-2 = +0.67pts
Port Vale were hammered by new Champions Swindon 5-0 = -1pt
St Johnstone also we well beaten 5-1 away to Motherwell = -1pt
Varnamo drew 1-1 = -1pt
Wigan thrashed Newcastle 4-0 in a comprehensive win, also as a 2pt bet = +3.5pts
York edged out Forest Green 1-0 with a winner 8 minutes from time = +2.04pts

So 8 losers and 8 winners from 16 bets, and a profit registered of +13.54pts, which is most welcome, and helps us add to the overall profit, to which has still been a disappointing season.

Monday 30th

No bets again today as we lose Windsor to flooding. May as well use this time to get results updated.

Friday 27th:
Markadam 2nd by a neck, after going off a well backed 6/5f = -1pt
Red Harbour also 2nd, again going off well backed, but the winner was too good = -1pt
Jack Luey ran on well, but left too much, finishing 5th out of 13 = -1pt
Red Law weakened, but was also well backed = -1pt

So we were on the right side of all the prices, each one getting backed well, but just hitting the bar. = -4pts

Saturday 28th:
Major Malarkey was pulled up, but wasn't going very anyhow = -1pt
Around A Pound WON very well, by 13 lengths, again well backed into 9/4f, meaning the 7/2 adv was very good = +3.5pts
Stick Together in the same race as Around A Pound, pulled up = -1pt
Mirrored never really got into the race, but again, was well backed from adv 12s into 7s = -1pt
Twelve Strings WON, and was a drifter, out from 3/1 adv to 4/1 SP, just running on well enough to win by a head = +4pts

So a decent day with two winner = +4.5pts on the day

Sunday, there were no bets. All football will be updated after City's result tonight. Thanks all

Sunday

No bets today with only Ludlow going ahead. That said, the weather conditions are nothing short of appalling, so we are glad nothing has cropped up in all honesty.

Back tomorrow, enjoy your day, whatever you may be doing.

3.45 Red Harbour @ 3/1

Results Update

A blank, yet quiet couple of days for us.

Tues 24th:
Bold Diva never got going = -1pt

Weds 25th:
Mister Music traded 1.55 IR but was beaten into 2nd, just lacking a bit extra = -1pt
Talk Of The North well outpaced = -1pt

Thursday 26th:
Heirarch stayed on well, but always behind, finishing 3rd = -1pt

So 4pts lost from the total. Really hope things can pick up quality wise and weather wise. Back tomorrow.

Thursday 26th

Again, the heavy rain takes its toll on the racing. Just the one bet today:

5.35 Wolves - Heirarch @ 9/2 (1pt)

Good luck

Wednesday, 25 April 2012

Wednesday 25th April

What a rubbish day weather wise. One expects it likely to cause some surprises today, but nonetheless, two bets have been thrown out.

Epsom:
3.20 Mister Music @ 7/1
5.00 Talk Of The North @ 3/1

Both 1pt - very best of luck

Horse Racing Results Update

11th April:
Ymir just couldn't challenge, but came a respectable 3rd by a length = -1pt
Mohawk Ridge just no extra, also 3rd = -1pt

2 bets, 2 losers and a loss of 2pts

12th April:
Silk Drum was going ok, before pulling up = -2pts
Gullinbursti was a NR
Jump City WON after riding clear @ 9/2 = +4.5pts
Carinya - Folkestone abandoned
Sherman McCoy - Folkestone abandoned
Reilys Daughter - Folkestone abandoned
Munsarim WON @ advised 2/1 = +2pts

So with 4 bets not running, we had 2 winners from 3 runners and a profit of +4.5pts

Friday 13th April:
Bai Zhu didn't get off to a great start and never really threatened finishing well back = -1pt
It's A Gimme looked to be marking a charge but a mistake put an end to that = -1pt
Mosstang weakened = -1pt
Luv U Forever drifted horribly in the betting and justified this = -1pt
Umph had strong market support but no real extra pace late on = -1pt

So it proved an unlucky Friday 13th with 5 losers from 5 and -5pts loss

Saturday 14th April:
Zarkander was a faller = -1pt
Marufo couldn't iron out the mistakes = -1pt
See Emily Play well beaten = -1pt
Boucher Garcon went off 11/10 fav just a little lacking in pace, coming 2nd = -1pt
Rosies Lady also lacking just coming 2nd = -1pt
Jack Of Diamonds 2nd by a head = -1pt
El Mcgylnn WON pulling clear late on @ 7/2 = +3.5pts
Gabrials King WON @ advised 2/1 winning well = +2pts

So two winners late on from 8 bets ended the frustration of three 2nd places = -0.5pt loss
The Grand National suggestions saw Cappa Bleu place in 4th, whilst Always Right unseated rider and Chicago Grey was brought down.

Sunday 15th April:
No Bets

Monday 16th April:
Homeward Strut came home in 2nd = -1pt
Aiaam Al Wafa WON, drifting to 7/1 SP holding on well = +7pts

So one winner from two bets, and a very nice drifter = +6pts on the day

Tuesday 17th April:
No Bets

Wednesday 18th April:
Yaa Salam just had no extra before fading = -1pt
Holy Roman Warrior weakened = -1pt
Dark Ages was a NR
Justbookies Dotnet ran poorly = -1pt

So a blank day with the three running selections all losing = -3pts

Thursday 19th April:
All Fur Coat went off 10/1 just getting pipped in 2nd = -1pt
Lucky Numbers didn't look right before the off and weakened = -2pts
That's The Deal fell = -1pt
Almaty Express was well backed from 6/1 into 7/2 but 2nd by 1/2 length = -1pt
Frederickthegreat weakened = -1pt

Two more seconds meant a blank day again, with 5 runners producing a -6pts loss

Friday 20th April:
Everlong stayed on well but pipped into 2nd = -1pt
Ektihaam WON as our 2pt bet @ advised 3/1, staying on strongly = +6pts
Gold Rally weakened = -1pt
Alvarado just couldn't find the extra and was beaten into 2nd = -1pt
Carinya was well backed but didn't look right = -1pt
Caledonia Lady drifted to 7/1 SP and also damn close, just not able to quite get home, coming 2nd by a head = -1pt

A frustrating day with three more seconds, but still one winner from 6 bets, a 2pt bet meant +1pt added

Saturday 21st April:
Merigo WON, holding off a late challenge to win gamely the Scottish Grand National as our 2pt bet going off at SP 15/2 as our 2pt bet for a very nice winner = +15pts
Arctic Cosmos eased off suggesting something was not quite right = -1pt
Red Merlin weakened = -1pt
Pie At Midnight pulled up = -1pt
Idole First led, but some weakened = -1pt
Korngold never really in to it = -1pt
Bapak Bangsawan took a while to get going, but one paced = -1pt
Hurakan always there, but just lacking the pace of the winner, coming 2nd = -1pt

So Merigo was a great winner, but frustrating we only converted one winner from the  8 bets. Still = +8pts on the day

Sunday 22nd April:
Kingsmere was going well till falling = -1pt

One bet, one loser = -1pt on the day

Monday 23rd April
Ruacana WON, and drifted from adv 9/2 to 11/2 SP but a strong finish helped = +5.5pts
Edmaaj just pipped into 2nd by a neck at SP 9/1 = -1pt
Law To Himself unseated rider at the off = -1pt
Jordaura never got in to it = -1pt
Treehouse WON as the 2pt bet, going off 13/2 SP, always in contention and ridden on = +13pts
Tipsy Indian showed weak market support and had no real pace to win = -1pt
Belon Gale always struggling, finishing way back = -1pt
Colincas Lad traded short IR, but just lacked the extra to finish 2nd = -1pt

So a couple of winners, and another decent 2pt bet, but again, being greedy, quite frustrating with two close 2nds again! Still two winners from eight bets and a +12.5pts

That concludes the round up and it has been a decent period of +14.5pts added. Happy with!

Oldham were well beaten by Sheff Weds 3-0 = -1pt
Walsall lost narrowly 1-0 to Charlton = -1pt

So a late winner going for us, despite Liverpool nearly throwing it away. Dagenham was also a good winner, but a narrow loss of -0.725pts

April 14th:
Dagerfors lost 2-0 = -1pt
Jablonec won 1-0 = -1pt
Ljungskile lost 4-1 = -1pt

Sunday 15th

No selections today, and after yesterday's National i'm quite happy to have a day off. Thoughts go out to everyone connected to Synchronised and According to Pete, a real tragedy and one that could have been avoided (especially for the former). There is little justification for Synchronised racing, and I can only associate it to greed. Surely that race needs to be stopped or improved drastically. I was quite annoyed with the way the BBC handled the whole situation, only mentioning the two deaths at the end of the broadcast, and essentially brushing it aside. For all of us horse racing fans, to see something that is bordering a massacre, is just a sad sight and I'm hoping that we can see massive improvements come next years National (although I'm not holding my breath).

Have a great Sunday everyone, and usual post tomorrow midday.

Saturday, 14 April 2012

Grand National Day

Everyone is preparing for the big race today, we haven't got any bets in it but I will put up some that our system has popped up as possible fun bets on what is a lottery of a race! They won't go on official record as we're not suggesting them, just sharing some potentials :)

Aintree

2:50 Zarkandar @ 2/1
3:25 Marufo @ 7/1

Newcastle

1:35 See Emily Play @ 9/4
3:20 Boucher Garcon @ 5/4
5:30 Rosies Lady @ 5/1

Lingfield

4:45 Jack Of Diamonds @ 4/1

Cheptsow

Wolverhampton

7:15 El Mcglynn @ 7/2
7:45 Gabrial's King @ 2/1

Grand National

Always Right @ 33/1
Cappa Bleu @ 16/1
Chicago Grey @ 20/1

These are current best general prices at books paying 5 places 1/4 odds. VC are paying 6 plays 1/4 but reduced prices at 28/1, 14/1 & 16/1 respectively - seeing as it's a fun bet and not an advised bet I'd be tempted to go for the VC, as we all know how difficult this race is :) - good luck if you bet on it.

Good luck today everyone.

Saturday Football

Degerfors (Sweden 2)
Jablonec (Czech 1)
Ljungskile (Sweden 2)
Rotherham
Southend x 2
Umea (Sweden 2)

Good luck, horses in an hour or so.

Monday Update:
Tromso played out a 0-0 draw = -1pt

We secured 2 x 2nd places with our horse bets too, Reset City took a while to get going, eventually leaving too much to do. More Equity was well clear at one stage, but seemed to have exerted too much, and was caught. = -2pts for the day.

Today:
Not great stuff again, as the NH peters out somewhat. Two bets, both in the same race.

5.00 Sedgefield:
Willie Hall @ 4/1

Roi De Rose WON, @ advised 7/2, staying on well to pull clear = +3.5pts
De Vine Memory never really in it = -1pt
Lastkingofscotland just had no extra = -1pt
Rolecarr weakened badly = -1pt

So a small loss unfortunately with just one winner = -0.5pts

Friday 30th March:

Cyflymder put up a decent challenge, but had nothing extra when needed = -1pt

That was the only bet for the day.

Saturday 31st March:

Reve De Nuit weakened = -1pt

Eton Forever ran well, and looked to be going close, before weakening = -1pt
Qaraaba went off 4/1 joint-fav (advised 13/2) and duly ran on well to win = +6.5pts
Tinshu 2nd, but had no chance with the winner who quickened well late on = -1pt
New Leyf 2nd by a short head, and quite unfortunate = -1pt

So a nice winner with Qaraaba, but two 2nds (one really close) meant the day was not as good as could have been. Still +1.5pts

Sunday there was no bets.

Football:

Friday Night:
Dainava Alytus drew 0-0 = -1pt
Guingamp drew 1-1 after conceding an 85th min equaliser = -1pt
Barnet were undone 0-1 by our arch enemies Torquay = -1pt

Saturday:
Dagenham held on, winning 0-1 away to Port Vale, who also missed a late penalty = +2.8pts
Middlesborough drew 1-1 away to Brighton in a lively game, where both sides could have won = -1.5pts
Morecambe won 1-2 away to Oxford, and the stats reflect a well earned win. Who else thought we would be on the end of another late, costly goal, if being honest? A nice winner, at big odds, finally = +5.5pts
Northampton drew 1-1 with the result, probably fair = -1pt
Rangers won 1-2 away to Motherwell, with a late winner, which went our way! A 2pt bet = +2.66pts
St Mirren were easy winners, 4-2 at home to Kilmarnock, also a 2pt bet = +3pts
Twente won 2-0 = +0.34pts
Wigan won 2-0 against a poor Stoke side, again as a 2pt bet = +3.268pts

Sunday:
Cagliari won 2-0 at home to Atlanta = +1.8pts
Inter Milan overcame Genoa in a thrilling 5-4 victory = +0.65pts
Juventus beat Napoli 3-0 = +0.8pts
Liverpool had chances, but in the end capitulated somewhat as Newcastle ran out easy 2-0 winners = -1.5pts

So on a whole, a very nice weekend! No late heartbreak, and even a couple of late things going for us, who would have thought! 9 winners over the weekend from 15 selections, meaning a 60% SR. The profit recorded is our best weekend to date, with +13.82pts put back on the board, and it is much much needed. A big step taken, but this does not write all the wrongs of the season by any stretch, although a couple more weekends like this certainly will go someway :)

Thanks all!
